I haven't drawn in awhile, i am not sure why. But i have wanted to draw everyday for a few days now, and always find something else to do. And when i couldn't think about anything to talk about in todays post i decided to make something up! So here it goes!
Step 1:
Draw a whole bunch of hearts
Step 2:
Colour them in

Have a good night everyone!
I found this video yesterday and just had to share it with you. When i first started watching it i thought it would take a lot of guts to go out there, i would feel like an idiot. I am not even sure if i would give someone random a hug.... but as the video prgressed and i was talking to my honey about it and i think i would. Its just a hug and who knows someone could be having a really bad day and giving them a hug could make all the difference!

I love how the video starts in Black and White and then turns colour... I think a hug is a very powerful thing

My sister in law and step sister did that back home, and i didn't even know about it until after i saw the video. It looks like it could be lots of fun!

like i said some people just need a hug
Hope everyone has a wonderful night!!
The Thrive Project
Part 2 - Rule of Thirds

The picture I used in the Project this week
The rule of thirds is my favorite photography tool. I use it all the time, after a while you will learn to just think in the rule and take most of your pictures using it. The rule states that an image should be imagined as divided into nine equal parts by two equally-spaced horizontal lines and two equally-spaced vertical lines. Which in regular words means dont make the focus of the photo in the center, put it off to the side. I can tell you that it works. If you were to take a photo of someone in the center of the frame and then another off to the side, they will look totally different.
Here are some examples of my work, that use the rule....

Hope you liked them!!

Check out Becky's blogg to add your picture to the project!!

Cleaning the fish tank
is a day long event as you can see!! Had fun doing it though and James seems to like it too!!

Go Check out more lists at Sally's Blog and see what some other blogger are listing about today!!

Have a good night!!
Mondays are normally very stressful, going back to work after a good weekend. So today i decided to treat everyone with the wonder that is Mother Nature. So here are some pictures, hope you like them...

Have a wonderful night!!
I wanted to write about this song today because i heard it at work and i just thought it would be perfect for a Quotemeal post! The words are so true...

Sometimes we fall down, can’t get back up
We’re hiding behind skin that’s too tough

How come we don’t say I love you enough
Till it’s to late, it’s not too late

Our hearts are hungry for the food that won’t come
And we could make a feast from these crumbs
And we’re all staring down the barrel of a gun

So if your life flashed before you
What would you wish you would’ve done

Lookin at the hand of the time we’ve been given here
This is all we got and we gotta start thinkin' that

Every second counts on a clock that’s tickin’
Gotta live like we’re dying

We only got
86 400 seconds in a day to
Turn it all around or throw it all away
Gotta tell ‘em that we love ‘em
While we got the chance to say

So here is the song, take a listen. Leave a comment and tell me what you think...

thoughts and things of the day...

Went to work...
got lots of work done, but it was boring.

Died my hair...
with the help of my honey...Hate it...
It died my roots mostly, made then look yellow/orange-ish and all the other hair looks the same...Note to self

Had a shower....
The number one reason i hate using new razors, they chew up your legs. This always happens to me the first time i use a new one.

Got a new Toy...
from my wonderful friend Tara. I love the Nightmare Before Christmas cant you tell!!

Got my monthly gift...
and I am totally PMSing and craving pickles, ice tea, and Salt & Vinegar GoldFish

Got a new Movie...
I love both of these movies and when my honey found them both on blue ray, i had to have them. Which i thought was very weird that i love them so much and didn't own them..

Well Thats all Folks...
I hope everyone had a good day!

My honey and I have a cute kitten named James Bond. He was a graduation present from my honey, wow 3 years ago! He got his name because when we first got him he was so rambunctious and always jumping round doing flips. I wish i could have got a video of that. Now he is just kind of lazy. He had an operation awhile back on his bladder and since then we have had to feed him special food and he gained weight. We have always tried to buy toys for him to play with and he never gives any of them a second look. I bought him a stocking last year with tons of toy but he never touched one of them. So we gave up for a long time, but last march i brought him a environmentally friendly toy mouse that squeaks when you touch it or move it, thinking he would like that better, sadly not. Over time we have thrown out all his other toys except for that mouse.

And today he played with it!! I was so exited. My honey and I were watching tv and he paused it, "Can you hear that?" Then i heard it, the squeak of the little mouse! We sat in awe listening to him play with the mouse. I am so exited that he is playing with it. And you might thinking right now that i am the crazy cat lady but he has never played with toys even as a kitten. So think what you want! But these kind of things excite me.

Here is my list for today, sorry its late but i ran out of colored journal paper and needed to buy more ink.
Inspired by the song that i listen to the most! I love all these songs!
Hope you do too!

Head on over to Aimee's page to check out some more lists. Comment and leave me a link to your list, i would love to read it!

Have a wonderful night!

This morning i was reading my favorite blog in the world, and i was completely inspired! It was almost like me and becky were having the same dream last night.
My honey and I were playing around on the computer last night and we stumbled across a video. And i looked at him and said lets do it! and being the wonderful sport he is he said ok!
When i went to Becky's blog this morning and saw her post i felt the circle come together.

The Thrive Project -quoting her words
Good morning friends.  I've had an epiphany.  So many of you are interested in learning more about your camera and since I'll be posting once a week on what I learn...why don't you join me in the journey??  The only way to learn is to DO right??  Let's learn together!!!

So come on everyone lets join Becky in her journey, and this weeks assignment is Shutter Speed.
Here are my pictures, hope you like them.
The technique is called Light Painting...

This one was hard, because you have to spell your name backwards and just hope it looks right.

 This one was just fun

This is a picture of my kittin James Bond! I was holding him in my arms and was only shining the light on him so you cant see me. I really like the way it turned out.

Hope everyone is having a good day!!
Just to add to Tamara's post from the other day. For those of you whom have never had the pleasure of watching this video, You should. I highly recommend it to everyone. It is so moving and inspirational. You have not seen a movie until you have seen "Pay It Forward". So please take some time out of your day and go out and rent this movie. Get your whole family to watch it. It will touch your heart in so many ways, that you will want to pay it forward everyday.

We started our journey at about 11 and we were both very hyper to be going away for the weekend. We have not done that in a very long time. The roads were pretty good and it was a nice drive just the two of us.

He was looking right at me!!

Took some pictures along the way. ^^ Thought it was awesome he was looking at me as we drove by, i was just busy taking pictures and didn't even notice. We did a little shopping when we got there, we went to the mall and browsed more than anything. The only thing we bought was a couple t-shirts. The other days consisted of more shopping... but thats another story.....
I didn't take very many pictures while we were there, to much time having fun!
But here are some i did take...

This is there version of a sled ride

This was after he came inside.
He was so red and he had ice frozen to his face!
I couldn't have done it, way to cold out side

Love this picture, they were all looking at me!

I love this lap!

Awesome weekend babe!

Hope everyone else had a good weekend too!!
Today I thought I would share one of my guilty pleasure from my childhood.
[Which I still love today, but cant find the series on it!]

Sailor moon. I love this show so much. I use to watch it all the time and when I was little one of my first bathing suits was a sailor moon one piece.

Yes Yes I know some of you may think this is crazy but im sure deep down inside you have a guilty pleasure that is just as bad as mine.

I have no Idea why I like this show so much. It is so dramatic and sailor moon is a complete cry baby.
But I am just drawn to it.

I would love to hear what your guilty pleasures are as well.
So leave a comment.
Thanks!
Hey Everyone!

I have just started a new class in my university. Its called 'Womens Studies' "Women in Leadership". It is so amazing. I was just told last class about a project that we get to start immediatly! And I am so excited that I have been shouting it out to the world!

I am going to be doing a fundraiser ( Since ill be running it that would be me being a woman in leadership!) Im hoping to combine 2 things together. Street kids and single mothers or something to do with abuse. [Transition house kind of thing].
Im so extatic! I want to funraise with 3-4 kinds of things.Bottles, cash, canned food, or toiletries and clothes.
I have to host the whole thing myself and I have been freaking out. I have never done anything bigger than the 30 hour famine! This project...even though it was only announced yesterday.... has become more than just a project for me. It has inpired me on so many levels. So I will be keeping you updated as I go along.

I hope you all will enjoy taking this journey with me. Thanks! Update you soon!
Here is the newish addition to the Lost my Smile collection

Today i had another encounter with fate, well i think its fate. I was at work today and a customer, and older gentleman asked me a question and this is how our conversation went...

"Hello miss and you please tell me where stationary is?"
I smiled, pointed to where it is and i said "just right over there"
he looks me right in the eye and says
"Thank you very much,
you have such a beautiful smile"
pause from me, "Well thank you!"
and he walked away

Every where i go this word follows me. There is not getting rid of it, not that i want to or anything. Its just so weird that out of all the things he could have said he commented on my smile... it makes me think

I think someone is trying to tell me something....

On Monday i had a dream about a painting i wanted to do. When i woke up i turned to Skylar and told him my idea, he said well do it then. So got up and started doing my normal day off routine. I read Becky's blog, Meg's Blog, Aimee's Blog and then of course i go to Fb.
But something was different, i pulled out my sketch book and typed in how to draw a face in google. I started drawing and it turned out bad, i wont even show you a picture. So flipped to a new page and i typed in how to draw eyes. Tried one, didn't work out and i came across anime eyes. And i started to draw and fell in love with it. I took a piece of tracing paper and i traced the eye, flipped it over and drew the other eye.
I saw this and i feel in love!! Then i went to google again and typed in curly hair. Google is now my best friend ever! You can find anything on there. And Inspiration hit me!
So i started drawing...
I started out with this kind of hair, but quickly changed my mind

This was the test hair picture before i started adding detail

This is the Finished product! I am so pleased the way it turned out

I must have been sitting at my desk for at least 2 1/2 hours at least!
As soon as i finished i knew that i wanted to paint it! I called my friend Tracy and asked her if i could use her projector, she said yes of course! Love her! So we drove up to Staples and got it put on to a clear sheet of paper for the over head projector. On our way back i was talking to Skylar and i said to him, i think that a art demon {In this case angle of art} had possessed me today, because when i stared i just couldn't stop. I sat there and painted and painted till about 1:30 am until i finished it! It was worth all the time.

Finished product

I posted this picture last night on my FB account and i had an overwhelming amount of comments of people saying that they love it. One comment that got me the most was my friend Wallace, he is a painter too. He said...
Artistic expression is a liberation of the spirit. Nice work my friend, be well.
It was absolutely surreal to see this dream come to life

Hope you like it! Leave a comment and tell me what you think!
