The Temptations

You know what one of the hardest things about going on this real food journey…the temptations. The cute cookies, the chocolate cakes and bakery treats. You see them everywhere and man do they ever smell so good. It takes so much will power to turn away and most days my 'will power' is already over there licking the icing.

Today has been a day full of surprises for me! First I got to sleep in, then I checked my blog and had a beautiful comment that brought me to tears, and then I got inspired to finish a painting that I have been working on for over two months.

What we have been up to...

Happy New Year everyone!

I hope everyone is enjoying themselves. I know I am. I have had the great honour of joining my family in BC for this wonderful season and I am just beside myself with joy. I have gotten everything a girl could want for Christmas and New years.

I got to be here with my sisters, up at 6am as usual on Christmas morning and trying to waste time so mom and dad can sleep for another hour. I got to be here when Skylar cut the Christmas turkey that my dad spent all day baking. I got to be here and share pizza and a beer with my dad to bring in the New Year. I got to watch the countdown with my family and get huge hugs from my sisters thanking me that I am here.

The days have started to mend together now and I never want it to end. We have been here since December 18^th and we have to be back on January 8^th. I know it is greedy of me to ask for more time but I love my family and if I didn’t have to leave you can bet that I wouldn’t. We haven’t done much but just being with them, even if it’s watching a movie or just talking, I am thankful for every minute.

So far we have gone swimming 3 times! Ohh how I have missed swimming! I learnt how to make homemade cinnamon buns and homemade Mac and cheese. I also tried to learn to skateboard but that didn’t work out to well and I really hurt my knee and ankle.

And to bring in the New Year, I swung on a swing. January 1^st 2012, in a light hoodie, jeans and running shoes, with no snow on the ground at all, I swung. It was amazing.

5 Years!

This week was my Honey and I’s 5 year Anniversary! Wow 5 years, I can’t believe that it has been that long. It seems just yesterday…

September 1^st 2006, seems so long ago that I meet my wonderful and handsome man. But feels like yesterday the first kiss we ever shared. I remember the first day we meet, and if you were to ask him he could tell you exactly what I was wearing. Those kinds of things just amaze me, the little things that he does that just makes my day completely. When I am mad, he won’t stop saying I love you until I say it back and mean it.

The way he wakes me up in the morning before he leaves for work just to tell me he loves me.

Five years! Five long but short years; building a life together and growing up with each other.

This year we both had to work but speed off to Regina as soon as we done and went to dinner and a movie. Kickin it old school! It was so nice to just have time together away from home to just be with each other.

Happy 5 year Anniversary to us!
