Professor : You are a Christian, aren’t you, son ?
.
Student : Yes, sir.

Professor: So, you believe in GOD ?

Student : Absolutely, sir.

Professor : Is GOD good ?

Student : Sure.

Professor: Is GOD all powerful ?

Student : Yes.

Professor: My brother died of cancer even though he prayed to GOD to heal him. Most of us would attempt to help others who are ill. But GOD didn’t. How is this GOD good then? Hmm?

(Student was silent.)

Professor: You can’t answer, can you ? Let’s start again, young fella. Is GOD good?

Student : Yes.

Professor: Is satan good ?

Student : No.

Professor: Where does satan come from ?

Student : From … GOD …

Professor: That’s right. Tell me son, is there evil in this world?

Student : Yes.

Professor: Evil is everywhere, isn’t it ? And GOD did make everything. Correct?

Student : Yes.

Professor: So who created evil ?

(Student did not answer.)

Professor: Is there sickness? Immorality? Hatred? Ugliness? All these terrible things exist in the world, don’t they?

Student : Yes, sir.

Professor: So, who created them ?

(Student had no answer.)

Professor: Science says you have 5 Senses you use to identify and observe the world around you. Tell me, son, have you ever seen GOD?

Student : No, sir.

Professor: Tell us if you have ever heard your GOD?

Student : No , sir.

Professor: Have you ever felt your GOD, tasted your GOD, smelt your GOD? Have you ever had any sensory perception of GOD for that matter?

Student : No, sir. I’m afraid I haven’t.

Professor: Yet you still believe in Him?

Student : Yes.

Professor : According to Empirical, Testable, Demonstrable Protocol, Science says your GOD doesn’t exist. What do you say to that, son?

Student : Nothing. I only have my faith.

Professor: Yes, faith. And that is the problem Science has.

Student : Professor, is there such a thing as heat?

Professor: Yes.

Student : And is there such a thing as cold?

Professor: Yes.

Student : No, sir. There isn’t.

(The lecture theater became very quiet with this turn of events.)

Student : Sir, you can have lots of heat, even more heat, superheat, mega heat, white heat, a little heat or no heat. But we don’t have anything called cold. We can hit 458 degrees below zero which is no heat, but we can’t go any further after that. There is no such thing as cold. Cold is only a word we use to describe the absence of heat. We cannot measure cold. Heat is energy. Cold is not the opposite of heat, sir, just the absence of it.

(There was pin-drop silence in the lecture theater.)

Student : What about darkness, Professor? Is there such a thing as darkness?

Professor: Yes. What is night if there isn’t darkness?

Student : You’re wrong again, sir. Darkness is the absence of something. You can have low light, normal light, bright light, flashing light. But if you have no light constantly, you have nothing and its called darkness, isn’t it? In reality, darkness isn’t. If it is, well you would be able to make darkness darker, wouldn’t you?

Professor: So what is the point you are making, young man ?

Student : Sir, my point is your philosophical premise is flawed.

Professor: Flawed ? Can you explain how?

Student : Sir, you are working on the premise of duality. You argue there is life and then there is death, a good GOD and a bad GOD. You are viewing the concept of GOD as something finite, something we can measure. Sir, Science can’t even explain a thought. It uses electricity and magnetism, but has never seen, much less fully understood either one. To view death as the opposite of life is to be ignorant of the fact that death cannot exist as a substantive thing.

Death is not the opposite of life: just the absence of it. Now tell me, Professor, do you teach your students that they evolved from a monkey?

Professor: If you are referring to the natural evolutionary process, yes, of course, I do.

Student : Have you ever observed evolution with your own eyes, sir?

(The Professor shook his head with a smile, beginning to realize where the argument was going.)

Student : Since no one has ever observed the process of evolution at work and cannot even prove that this process is an on-going endeavor. Are you not teaching your opinion, sir? Are you not a scientist but a preacher?

(The class was in uproar.)

Student : Is there anyone in the class who has ever seen the Professor’s brain?

(The class broke out into laughter. )

Student : Is there anyone here who has ever heard the Professor’s brain, felt it, touched or smelt it? No one appears to have done so. So, according to the established Rules of Empirical, Stable, Demonstrable Protocol, Science says that you have no brain, sir. With all due respect, sir, how do we then trust your lectures, sir?

(The room was silent. The Professor stared at the student, his face unfathomable.)

Professor: I guess you’ll have to take them on faith, son.

Student : That is it sir … Exactly ! The link between man & GOD is FAITH. That is all that keeps things alive and moving.

Don’t forget to smile!

I want to thank everyone for their lovely comments, they were amazing!  I was crying practically the whole time. The love that went in to the comments and the love that reached out and hugged me is so over whelming, ohh here come the tears again. What a big family I have now. I am sure I will be taking up some of you on your offers for help and guidance. I am also going to have fun looking for all the music you sent me!! My iPod will be full in no time  I am so happy to know that there are others that use music like me.
One of my favorite comments about music: I'd recommend anything by Francesca Battistelli or Mandisa. Both have awesome, praise-worthy sing-a-long at the top of your lungs songs. –Jen
I can totally relate to this one, because I have Francesca’s album on my iPod and I so do that.
On another high note, I am feeling my life change right before my eyes. It’s wonderful when you finally step back and realize that God has a plan for you. You start looking at each day different and get excited about what you will read/learn next. Work has been awesome, my stress level has gone way down, and I am just loving life.
Also I am officially signed up for bible study! My first one is this Monday night! I am so exited everything is coming together.
I got a new hair cut tonight, I needed a change to go with all the other changes in my life and I cut it very short!! But it turned out so good I am in love with it.

I took this picture in the fall and i thought it would be perfect for todays post! I wanted to add this picture just because I feel like a new born in my faith and I am growing and thriving with the help of the people around me. So Thank you again everyone!

Don’t forget to smile!

A young man named John received a parrot as a gift.

The parrot has a bad attitude and even worse vocabulary. Every word out of the bird’s mouth was rude, obnoxious and laced with profanity.

John tried and tried to change the bird’s attitude by consistently saying only polite words, playing soft music and anything else he could think of to “clean up” the bird’s vocabulary. Finally, john was fed up and he yelled at the parrot.

The parrot yelled back. John shook the parrot and the parrot got angrier and even ruder.

John, in desperation, threw up his hand, grabbed the bird and put him in the freezer. For a few minutes the parrot squawked and kicked and screamed.

Then suddenly there was total quite. Not a peep was heard for over a minute. Fearing that he’d hurt the parrot, John quickly opened the door to the freezer. The parrot calmly stepped out onto John’s outstretched arm and said,

“I believe I may have offended you with my rude language and actions. I’m sincerely remorseful for my inappropriate transgressions and I fully intend to do everything I can to correct my rude and unforgivable behaviour.”

John was stunned at the change in the bird’s attitude. And he was about to as the parrot what had made such a dramatic change in his behaviour, the bird continued,

“May I ask what the turkey did?”

Don’t forget to smile!

This week was my Honey and I’s 5 year Anniversary! Wow 5 years, I can’t believe that it has been that long. It seems just yesterday…

September 1st 2006, seems so long ago that I meet my wonderful and handsome man. But feels like yesterday the first kiss we ever shared. I remember the first day we meet, and if you were to ask him he could tell you exactly what I was wearing. Those kinds of things just amaze me, the little things that he does that just makes my day completely. When I am mad, he won’t stop saying I love you until I say it back and mean it.

The way he wakes me up in the morning before he leaves for work just to tell me he loves me.
Five years! Five long but short years; building a life together and growing up with each other.
This year we both had to work but speed off to Regina as soon as we done and went to dinner and a movie. Kickin it old school! It was so nice to just have time together away from home to just be with each other.

Happy 5 year Anniversary to us!

I would like to start off today by apologizing to everyone for not posting in awhile. I have been so busy i have barley had time to do anything, even sleep. But this is not me complaining not one bit!!

So for the next few days i am going to tell you this months story...so here I go...

It all started at the beginning of the month, everyone at work knew that i was looking for a new job and being the wonderful friends they are, they were watching out for me too. I have been looking for awhile for a change. I have worked at Wal-Mart for 2 1/2 years and needless to say it was time for a change.

There was a job posting on line, and if it wasn't for my friends i wouldn't have even known about it. It was for a job at a local photography studio, Sooter's. I applied on Wednesday Feb 2nd and I was so nervous, and it went very well. I talked with the manager for about 45 mins and she really seemed to like me. We had a lot in common which is really god when you are applying for a job.

I got a call on friday to come in for an interview, and went for the interview on Saturday. I was so exited i died my hair and got my eye brows done and everything. I practiced putting on make up, i haven't done my make up in forever! It took me over an hour to do my make up, i wanted it to be perfect!

Stay in tuned for the interview....
Here is the newish addition to the Lost my Smile collection

Today i had another encounter with fate, well i think its fate. I was at work today and a customer, and older gentleman asked me a question and this is how our conversation went...

"Hello miss and you please tell me where stationary is?"
I smiled, pointed to where it is and i said "just right over there"
he looks me right in the eye and says
"Thank you very much,
you have such a beautiful smile"
pause from me, "Well thank you!"
and he walked away

Every where i go this word follows me. There is not getting rid of it, not that i want to or anything. Its just so weird that out of all the things he could have said he commented on my smile... it makes me think

I think someone is trying to tell me something....

On Monday i had a dream about a painting i wanted to do. When i woke up i turned to Skylar and told him my idea, he said well do it then. So got up and started doing my normal day off routine. I read Becky's blog, Meg's Blog, Aimee's Blog and then of course i go to Fb.
But something was different, i pulled out my sketch book and typed in how to draw a face in google. I started drawing and it turned out bad, i wont even show you a picture. So flipped to a new page and i typed in how to draw eyes. Tried one, didn't work out and i came across anime eyes. And i started to draw and fell in love with it. I took a piece of tracing paper and i traced the eye, flipped it over and drew the other eye.
I saw this and i feel in love!! Then i went to google again and typed in curly hair. Google is now my best friend ever! You can find anything on there. And Inspiration hit me!
So i started drawing...
I started out with this kind of hair, but quickly changed my mind

This was the test hair picture before i started adding detail

This is the Finished product! I am so pleased the way it turned out

I must have been sitting at my desk for at least 2 1/2 hours at least!
As soon as i finished i knew that i wanted to paint it! I called my friend Tracy and asked her if i could use her projector, she said yes of course! Love her! So we drove up to Staples and got it put on to a clear sheet of paper for the over head projector. On our way back i was talking to Skylar and i said to him, i think that a art demon {In this case angle of art} had possessed me today, because when i stared i just couldn't stop. I sat there and painted and painted till about 1:30 am until i finished it! It was worth all the time.

Finished product

I posted this picture last night on my FB account and i had an overwhelming amount of comments of people saying that they love it. One comment that got me the most was my friend Wallace, he is a painter too. He said...
Artistic expression is a liberation of the spirit. Nice work my friend, be well.
It was absolutely surreal to see this dream come to life

Hope you like it! Leave a comment and tell me what you think!

This is my list for the day...i have been feeling a little under the weather the last little bet, having trouble at work and all. That it has been very hard for me to keep a smile on my face, however i didn't know how apparent it was until the other day. I was at work and a customer came up to me and asked me if i was ok, i smiled and said of course why do you ask. And she looked me dead in the eye and said "Well you don't seem so happy, where is your smile?" And it hit me like a ton of bricks. But i laughed and said its right here and gave her a huge grin. After i was done helping her i wrote, Lost my smile on my hand.

A couple more days went by and i couldn't get this out of my head, i didn't know it was that bad until someone out of the blue said something to me. It was a well deserved slap in the face that i needed!

After realizing that this was not going away, i made my New years resolution to smile more, and so i have. And i didn't know what a huge impact a smile was until i started doing it all the time. If i notice that i am not smiling i think of something funny and just smile about it. I think about it in the back of my head and i just keep on smiling! It works, when i smile, people smile back.

So I made this list to remind everyone what i smile can do!
