Working on my art journals has been really fun. Learning new things and playing with new tools all the time. Finding my grove and going with the flow watching lots of things on line and taking workshops, have helped a lot. Pushing myself. Going out of my box and creating what I see or just making it up as I go along. It has been very freeing, doing art that is for me, all about me. And I don’t have to care if anyone likes it, because it is me!

Don’t forget to smile!

So lately I have been immersing myself with art, and anything and everything to make art.

Mod podge, gesso and my hair drier = love

I have recently taken the plunge to take an online course. I was doing the Strathmore workshops, so much fun! But I wanted MORE!!
There is a wonderfully creative lady that I follow her every post! Her name is Christy Tomlinson and I am just in love with her art! She has so many workshops and I have always wanted to take one but something always stops me. Money mostly I suppose, but I am an excuse maker, so that probably has a lot to do with it as well.
But when she announced this new workshop, I knew that I just had, HAD to take it. She was giving a discount for early registrations and we had a little extra this month. GST=♥ So I went for it! I am so exited for it, I cannot wait.
I will explain more about the class another day but for today I wanted to show you some of the things that have been keeping me up at night! ……seriously sometimes till 1 am!!
Hope you enjoy :)

Love this painting, it is for sale, $30.00 Canadian
If you are afraid to do somthing just do it, and you wont be any more♥

This is an 8x10 Canvus, love it. SOLD

This is a journal page, i love this bird can you tell..?

Journal page, Sheep!

This is a journal page too. The saying is from the news paper, more on that later♥

Hello Everyone!

I have been being a bad blogger lately, but I don’t feel bad because I have been crafting!!

I wanted to show you one of the things I have been working on. It happened to be the only thing that if fully done, that I can show you.

I know there are a lot of people that go through the winter blues and I thought this might brighten up someone’s day. Brighten a room or office maybe. I am hoping to start and Etsy shop soon, so I am trying to stock up on paintings and other things ;)

I call this painting, Spring has sprung it is a mixed media painting.

Oh and Happy international Woman’s day! I couldn’t let this day go on without mentioning it :)

Don’t forget to smile!
I have been working on so many different things this week I feel that I am just not getting anything done. Do you ever have days like that?? I am so busy already doing….well what I am I doing…

I am trying to be more creative and work on my art, and I love it. But I lose track of time like no one’s business. So in turn I have been losing sleep.
Which isn’t good for the job part of my day… :(
But I hope to share some pictures with you soon. That’s the problem with working on so many things at once. Nothing is done.
I hope everyone is having a good week, and I will talk to you soon!

Hello Everyone

I wanted to show you some of the things I have been working on the past few days. I found this amazing work shop sight though a blog that I follow!.

Strathmore online workshops, and right now I am doing a 4 week workshop with Traci Bautista and it’s called Doodles unleashed. Find out more!!

So far I have been having an amazing time, creating and moving out of my box and learning new things. Right now I am working on week one, Playful Print Making. It has been so much fun learning and creating, and finding my grove again.

The workshops are in video form and there are written instructions as well. She is very though and explains the process very well.

The first one didn’t turn out very good, in my mind. My honey really liked it. So I wanted to try again, now that I didn’t follow along with the video. I just turned up the music and let my hands be free, and it turned out really cool. And James Bond liked it so much he had to join in the fun!! Got to love my kitten.

Hope you enjoy the pictures!

Water colour i put in spray bottles for the work shop

Sometimes I look at a blank canvas and I see a picture, sometimes I can stare at a blank canvas for hours and see nothing. Well lately I have been inspired to go out of my comfort zone and try something new and different from what I am used to. I am currently working on a painting for the 10 year anniversary on 911. And I really don’t like using the word anniversary in that sentence because that word to me is happy, but that’s what it is. (More on that subject tomorrow)
Today was kind of unconventional in finding inspiration and I am so glad. I am “trying” a new idea. Using my photography as a Muse (I might say). We were on our way to Skylar’s dad’s farm and every time we drive by there is this little church. I must have a million pictures of it, it is so cute and I just love the way it looks. Well on the way out there today I looked at the  Church and I told Skylar to pull over I needed to take a picture. I do this all the time so it was not out of the ordinary for him. The lighting was perfect on the Church and I feel in love.
I had planned on painting out there today, it being so beautiful and warm. So I had brought all of my paint and everything I needed, including a new blank canvas. I am not very good at drawing so I normally stay away from painting real things. I once painted a barn and it was very bad, Skylar had to draw and try and fix it. I had drawn the ground to the edge of the barn so when it was done it was a floating barn. So I had to paint in hay bales to cover up the mistake.
This time however I had Skylar there with me and he was helping me with the drawing. He says I need to learn, and he is a very good teacher. He never once criticized me or grabbed the pencil to fix a mistake. So I 100% drew this on my own, with Skylar’s tips along the way.
Here are some pictures of how is coming along so far..Hope you enjoy!

I didnt have room for the Top of the Church which is my fav part but it kind of makes it my own now...

I am so glad to finally be back! I have not had internet in a few months and a lot has changed! We moved into a new place and I am loving it. Its way bigger then our old house and is 100% ours. The bills are all on us and everything else too. I am telling you, it’s so nice. I feel like such a grown up now hahah.
I have been really busy the past few months but I haven’t forgot about my blog. I have lots of great posts so keep an eye out.
In the mean time here are some pictures. I was out on my deck this evening just relaxing enjoying the sunset and I took some pictures of things I can see from my deck.

Have a good night!!
Four-year-old artist Aelita Andre is making it big in New York City. (Image: aelitaandreart.com)I logged on to the internet today and was wondered to find Aelita Andre.
She is 4 years old and has paitings in her own gallery in New York with an asking price of up to $30,000 per piece. She is so cute!

When I read her story, and watched this video all i could say was, WOW!

It makes me want to go home and paint. I always find that I think to much when I paint. This will be fun to try and act like a kid and just paint what, in your mind, looks awesome!

I belive that everything brought into your life is there for a reason! Well Aelita, I am Listening!

I haven't drawn in awhile, i am not sure why. But i have wanted to draw everyday for a few days now, and always find something else to do. And when i couldn't think about anything to talk about in todays post i decided to make something up! So here it goes!
Step 1:
Draw a whole bunch of hearts
Step 2:
Colour them in

Have a good night everyone!
On Monday i had a dream about a painting i wanted to do. When i woke up i turned to Skylar and told him my idea, he said well do it then. So got up and started doing my normal day off routine. I read Becky's blog, Meg's Blog, Aimee's Blog and then of course i go to Fb.
But something was different, i pulled out my sketch book and typed in how to draw a face in google. I started drawing and it turned out bad, i wont even show you a picture. So flipped to a new page and i typed in how to draw eyes. Tried one, didn't work out and i came across anime eyes. And i started to draw and fell in love with it. I took a piece of tracing paper and i traced the eye, flipped it over and drew the other eye.
I saw this and i feel in love!! Then i went to google again and typed in curly hair. Google is now my best friend ever! You can find anything on there. And Inspiration hit me!
So i started drawing...
I started out with this kind of hair, but quickly changed my mind

This was the test hair picture before i started adding detail

This is the Finished product! I am so pleased the way it turned out

I must have been sitting at my desk for at least 2 1/2 hours at least!
As soon as i finished i knew that i wanted to paint it! I called my friend Tracy and asked her if i could use her projector, she said yes of course! Love her! So we drove up to Staples and got it put on to a clear sheet of paper for the over head projector. On our way back i was talking to Skylar and i said to him, i think that a art demon {In this case angle of art} had possessed me today, because when i stared i just couldn't stop. I sat there and painted and painted till about 1:30 am until i finished it! It was worth all the time.

Finished product

I posted this picture last night on my FB account and i had an overwhelming amount of comments of people saying that they love it. One comment that got me the most was my friend Wallace, he is a painter too. He said...
Artistic expression is a liberation of the spirit. Nice work my friend, be well.
It was absolutely surreal to see this dream come to life

Hope you like it! Leave a comment and tell me what you think!
